Derek Yee is the founder of Yee & Company and has devoted his legal practice to representing individuals in accident and residential tenancy claims.
His personal philosophy is to support and guide his clients by providing practical legal advice in accessible and understandable terms. He recognizes that returning to full health is an important objective for his clients, and as a result, he helps reduce their stress by directly dealing with their claims so that they can focus on the medical treatment they need.
For his entire legal career, Derek has fought for the injured individual. He has extensive experience representing and advising people of all backgrounds and has appeared in the Provincial Court of British Columbia, the Supreme Court of British Columbia, and the Residential Tenancy Branch. Prior to establishing Yee & Company, he practiced at a number of personal injury law firms.
Derek obtained his law degree from the University of British Columbia Faculty of Law and studied management, economics, and psychology at the University of Toronto. He has mentored students through the Canadian Bar Association and the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers and is a member of the Law Society of British Columbia.
When time allows, Derek enjoys discussing the latest basketball news, hiking up Grouse Mountain, cycling, and tabletop gaming.
